certainty of price – certainty of service

Fixed Price Agreements
By now, a lot of business clients of LBW have been contacted by staff in relation to fixed price agreements. For those of you that have not been contacted yet, you will be in the next couple of months. As a teaser for those that have not been contacted, these agreements take the place of the engagement letters previously issued and are effectively the same except for one major difference. We are now asking you what you would like us to do for you over the next twelve months and we are undertaking to perform that scoped work at a fixed price under certain service level performance benchmarks.

These service level benchmarks are based on certainty of service in relation to turnaround times of work, response times to client contact and increased communication with our clients.

Because of these guarantees, our clients have absolutely nothing to lose by entering these fixed price agreements. Our clients are asked to provide prices and warranties for products or services before they are provided. We are now doing the same.

Generally the response to discussions with clients surrounding the development and implementation of fixed price agreements has been one of “what a great idea – why didn’t you think of this sooner?”

We are endeavouring to roll this out to all business clients in the near future, but if you have not yet been contacted, please contact your LBW representative if you would like to discuss a fixed price agreement that is specifically tailored to your needs.

UCI World Championships

The UCI Road World Championships will be held in Geelong from 27/9/2010 until 3/10/2010 (which is during school holidays). This is a world class event and there will be major disruptions to Geelong residents and businesses; LBW included.  What the COGG are indicating is that this one event will be like Geelong having a home game, Australian Masters Games, Schoolgirls Head of the River and the Audi sailing week all rolled into one week.

If you are considering making an appointment to see any of our staff during the week of 27/9/10 to 3/10/10 we suggest that you arrange an alternative appointment time. Access to our office will be extremely difficult and parking almost non existent.

Days and race times that involve Pakington Street closure from Church Street to Aphrasia Street are (note that roads will be closed 2 hours before these times and up to 2 hours after these times):

Tuesday 28/9/10  1pm - 3pm
Wednesday 29/9/10  10am - 5pm
Thursday 30/9  1pm - 5.30pm
Friday 1/10  1pm - 4.30pm
  • Some side roads will be closed to accommodate support crew and medical personnel. These roads will be changed to tow away zones. There is some suggestion that Gordon Avenue may be open to traffic but closed to parking. This has not been confirmed.
  • An estimated 300,000 people are expected to attend the event across the 5 days and 60% of these people will be non local.
  • Parking will be extremely difficult. The COGG is considering a 'park and ride' service but this is not a certainty at this stage.
  • LaTrobe Terrace and the ring road will experience extended peaks and blockages as they will be the only north - south roads that are open at all times.
